Could the days of ombre and balayage be over? Nope, we don't think so, even with the latest hair trend - Split-Dyed Hair Trend.

This new hair trend has been flooding our Instagram feeds that have the potential to be the new "it" colour. It goes by the name of #SplitHair.

This new technique requires you to dye half your hair one colour, and half another. That said, when it is not blended or designed correctly, it can look like Cruella de Vil from 101 Dalmatians; which in our view is not exactly a compliment. Unless you don't mind having some side-eye while walking down the street. To avoid extreme contrast, try using hues from the same family and blend them using a darker shade colour for the bangs; like how we do it here.

This new trend is fun, unique and interesting. Try it today! Note: Not for the faint-hearted.

We guess the fashion world will indeed become more vibrant in the upcoming year. Embrace the punkish side of you. Try an extreme hair colour at least once in your life.
