Gone are the days when wild colours and excessively flamboyant hair are considered vulgar. Who would have thought that such hair colours will one day transit from being a subculture to mainstream consumer culture?

It's no secret that fashion's obsession with Crayola-hued hair will be revived in 2016. As seen on the runways for spring summer 2016, from Gucci to Versace, this take on wild coloured hair is as key to having well-conceived fashion accessories and statement dresses. The trend of designers peppering their shows with a handful of models with wildly dyed hair will continue across many shows.

While granny-colored locks are none too new - Charlotte Free and Kylie Jenner went silver this year, and Kristen McMenamy has been sporting her natural ashen locks for decades. Associate Salon Director, Jamie Seah played up one notch by infusing touches of blue with other "hidden colours" in the hair and revealed when the hair colour starts to fade.

Perhaps for the very first time in fashion history, we notice that wild hair colours have become the definitive accessory in many designers' SS2016 runway collections. This time, it demands your complete sartorial submission.

"Spotted first in New York on model Natalie Westling, who walked the Prabal Gurung runway in a bold red sweater and skirt that matched her neon cherry mane, the head-to-toe colour scheme packed an undeniable visual punch. Designer Marc Jacobs took the concept to new levels a few days later at his fall show, commissioning 60-plus wigs in custom-dyed shades (ranging from palest pink to mushroom brown and silvery oyster blonde) that corresponded to each girl's runway look. From now on, you may want to consider getting dressed around your hair colour, not the other way around."

Try it at least once in your life. Make a drastic hair colour change. The point isn't so much about improving your look; but rather as an experiment to see yourself from a completely new perspective. And if you're already going blonde, go platinum - life's too short to worry about going drastic.
